Congratulations to 10-year-old Waihīrere Ngāhuia Hakaraia (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) from Palmerston North for winning the 2024 Elsie Locke Writing Prize. Waihīrere's poem, The Huia, has been published in Toitoi 34 alongside incredible illustrations by 15-year-old Danielle Wu.
